Officers
Natu Tuatagaloa, President, Class of 1984
Natu played many sports at SRHS: football, wrestling, basketball, boxing & track and coached Powder Puff Football & boxing. He belonged to the SRHS Block Society and SRHS Extinct Backpackers Club. Natu received the “Most Valuable Boys Athlete 1984 Blanket Award. He earned a Full Athletic/Academic Scholarship to UC Berkeley for football.
Natu married Judy Woods Tuatagaloa, Class of 1986. They have three daughters who also graduated from SRHS: Tianna/2004, Malia/2016 & McKenna/2019.
While playing football for CAL, he returned to SRHS and held a 1-day football camp for student athletes. He played many years of Bret Tovani Ball in Gym 2 with student athletes. Natu received the SRHS Lifetime Athletic Achievement Award in 2006 and was inducted into the SRHS Hall of Honor in 2013. He coached 2 years of JV Basketball with Jesse Haskins. Natu spent 20 years on the San Rafael City School Board and is currently the President of the San Rafael High School Scholarship Foundation.
Natu is a proud bulldog alumnus and a long-standing member of the SRHS Alumni Association. In January/2025 he joined the Alumni Association’s Board of Directors and became Alumni President in 2026.
Bruce MacPhail, Vice President, Class of 1962
While at SR, Bruce participated in football, basketball and track. He belonged to the Sportsman Club and was on the Student Court.
Linda Landers Markwick, Treasurer/Correspondence Secretary, Class of 1965
Linda was born and raised in San Rafael. For her educational career she attended Coleman Elementary, Davidson Middle and San Rafael High.
She has two children that, like her, attended San Rafael High School for their high school careers: Tony Markwick, class of 1987 and Tamara Markwick, class of 1996. She has raised other children as her own and she has several grandchildren (two of which attend SRHS).
She always looked fondly upon her high school days at San Rafael High School and was happy to join the SRHS Alumni Association in 1988, shortly after it was created. She also became a Board Member that year and has worn many hats, mainly as Treasurer. In 2025, Linda was inducted into the SRHS Hall of Honor She says that she does all the things for the Alumni Association as her way of giving back to the school she loves.
Pat Read McCormack, Recording Secretary, Class of 1964
Pat was a freshman yell leader and participated in RaRavas, the Rally Committee and the Dance Committee while at SRHS. Both her husband, Mel, and daughter are graduates of Redwood, 1960 and 1994, respectively.
Board Members
Judy Cox McGrath, Class of 1956, (Emeritus)
Judy was a member of the Girls' Recreation Association (GRC), the Aquatic Club and the Popcorn Committee (selling popcorn at lunchtime), while at SRHS. She was also the Senior Class Standing Committee Yell Leader. Jusy also participated in Theater Arts and many variety shows.
Judy married Joe McGrath inspite of him being a Drake Pirate. Their two children both graduated from SRHS...Amy in 1986 and Garth in 1989. Both were active in sports.
Judy played tennis for many years and is currently very active in boccee ball.
The Alumni Association was formed in 1984 to help plan the 100-year anniversary celebration of SRHS in 1988. Judy was one of the original founding members and has continually been on the Board of Directors helping make the Alumni Association what it is today. In past years she has held the office of President, Vice President and Newsletter Editor.
Chad Dagit, Class of 2001 (June 2026)
Chad is a fourth generation Marin native. During his years at SRHS he was involved in football, basketball and golf … and was also a Peer Tutor for Special Education. Since graduating from Cal Poly/San Luis Obispo in 2006 and returning to Marin, he has been active in many community areas.
While teaching P.E. at Sun Valley Elementary, he coached boys basketball at SRHS and facilitated youth sports and adventure camps through SR Park & Rec. He then joined the San Francisco Police Department where he served for 10 years, primarily focused on community engagement efforts. Chad currently sits on the executive board of SFPAL (San Francisco Police Activity League), where he spearheads the creation of a childhood literacy program incorporating K-9 therapy dogs. He currently sits on his Glenwood neighborhood board and is a newly active San Rafael Rotarian. He volunteers at his son’s preschool in the classroom and runs an afterschool bicycle tutorial class for his son and his classmates.
Chad joined the Alumni Association Board in 2026. He says, “I am a proud Bulldawg alum who benefitted tremendously from my time as a student, and I am drawn to serve my community. I am also newly/proudly involved in the SRHS Scholarship Foundation. I want the young/newer SRHS alumni to feel a sense of community/mentorship when they are seeking career paths, internships, etc. I want to be a resource for the alumni just like Natu (Tuatagaloa, Alumni President) has been for my peer group and me over the years.”
Chad is married to Shira Zuckerman Dagit, SRHS Class of 1997. His young son is a future Bulldog!
Linda Farris Hamza, Class of 1978 (June 2026)
During her years at SRHS, Linda was a cheerleader, in gymnastics and was an American Field Service (AFS) Exchange Student.
Since leaving SR, her volunteer work has been extensive:
Linda worked at Luther Burbank Savings from 2007 – 2023 as SVP, Director of Data Governance, Business Technology and PMO Groups. Since 2023 she has been Sr. Product/Project Manager for North Shore Systems.
She has a son who attended SRHS … Farris Hamza, Class of 2013.
Linda’s hobbies are hiking with her dog/Leo and traveling. She is looking forward to having many more hobbies when she retires.
Linda has been a longtime member of the SRHS Alumni Association for many years and joined the Board of Directors in 2026. She says, “I became involved to continue to give back to the schools that built our community and to help the next generation of San Rafael students achieve their goals post-graduation.”
Tay Kern, Class of 1964
During Tay's years at SRHS, she was a Freshman Cheerleader, Sophomore Cheerleader and on the Rally Committee. Tay was married to Rob Ham, Class of 1962, for a few years.
After graduation, Tay worked for 30 years at First American Title Co. as V-P and escrow officer ... also extensive travel and photography. She is now into Zumba, hiking, walking and golf.
Tay join the Board in 2018 hoping to promote Alumni interest.
Bob Marcucci, Class of 1991
Bob was ASB Senior Class President and named “1991 Most Valuabe Athlete.” While at SR he was on the wrestling team and played baseball and football. The 1990-1991 football team won the NCS championship.
He has been a SRCS teacher and administrator since 1997. Bob was a teacher at Coleman and Principal at Laural Dell, Glenwood & Davidson. Currently he is Deputy Superintendent of Business Services for San Rafael City Schools.
Bob says that he joined the Alumni Association’s Board of Directors because “I am a proud Bulldog and want to be a part of maintaining that tradition.”
Harry Miller, Class of 1961
Harry was very active during his years at SRHS. In the sports arenas he played on the baseball and football teams. He was on the tennis team, which were County Team Champions for three years, and Harry was team MVP for two years. He served on the student council, was the Senior Class Vice President and worked on the yearbook. In addition he was in the Kiwanis Club, the Sportsman Club and served as President of the SRHS Spirit Club. He was in the first "All Male" student body Yell Leaders in 1961 along with fellow students Gary Ledson, Jim Rosa and Jim Costello.
Harry married Suzanne E. Staley who also attended SRHS, class of 1961. They had two children who also attended SRHS, Robert Andrew (Drew) Miller, class of 1987, and Michelle Elizabeth Miller, class of 1989. Not only did Harry and his wife and their children attend SRHS, his father coached and taught at SRHS for 42 years from 1932-1974. The football field, Miller Field, is named after him.
After graduating SRHS, Harry continued his education and graduated from the University of Santa Clara and received a Masters Degree from Northwestern University. He was a US Army Major and served our country in Vietnam. He went on to become the Vice President of a Consumer Affairs Division and Compliance Department for 30 years. He was a lobbyist in Washington D.C. for five years for the health care industry. He retired as the Senior Vice President of the Reinsurance Company in 2004.
He has remained involved in SRHS over the years. While his children were there he was the President of the SRHS Boosters Organization for 10 years. Harry was the Chairman of the SRHS Alumni Association's Parade celebrating SRHS's 100th Year Anniversary. He has served on the Board of Director's for the SRHS Alumni Association for many years and has become even more involved in the SRHS Alumni Association, serving the group as the President from 2008-2025, feeling it was time to give back to the school and community while in retirement. He feels, "There is nothing more important than contributing to the development of the community's youth."
Vince Mueller, Class of 1957
Vince was on the football and swimming teams during his years at SRHS. He was a member of the Key Club, Scholarship Society and Junior Statesmen.
Larry Oliver, Class of 1957 (Emeritus)
While at SRHS, Larry was on the JV Baseball team and a member of the Tumbling Club. He was Senior Class Vice President and on the Senior Ball committee. He helped with his 50th Class Reunion. Larry is currently our Alumni Ambassador for the Board
"I have had the privilege and honor to be teaching the SRHS Metal Shop since 1999. Bill Costello called me to ask me to apply and Mrs. Judy Colton (Principal) hired me. I plan to stay as long as possible." "I have a 1966 corvette roadster that I try to find the time to enjoy and work on."
Larry joined the Alumni Board to support the high school he attended and worked at for so many years. (Larry retired in June, 2017.)

VERA worked in the school office after graduation and retired from SRHS as a Library Clerk. Her duties on the Board of Directors included Secretary, Correspondence Secretary and Vice President. **Vera Leptien Hunt passed away on 2/19/14 at the age of 87.
RICHARD was inducted into the SRHS Hall of Honor (along with his wife Dolly) in 2010 for their tireless vounteer work. At SRHS he was Student Body President and "Athlete of the Year" in 1948. **Rich passed away on 6/12/24 at the age of 93.He was a beloved figure in San Rafael and Marin County.
